The circles below have approximate radii of ½ mile, 1 mile, 1.5 miles, 2 miles, and 2.5 miles from the proposed data center site at the former Fountain Valley Golf Club in Farmington, Minnesota. If your child lives or goes to any kind of daycare, schools, or activities in these zones, they may be exposed to Low Frequency Noise and noise pollution. Sources are the generators and their fans some of which may number into the high hundreds for a hyperscaler that is up and humming 24/7. LFN exposure has been associated with negative physical and mental health effects to children, the elderly, and those who live within a 2.5 mile radius of constant long-term exposure. Anthropogenic noise from some data centers may be heard and/or felt by humans and animals from distances radiating for many more miles. The human autonomic nervous system is subject to cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, sleep disorders, migraines, and anxiety and depression. Is this possibility what you want for your child’s brain development and health?

Thank you to our friends in Peculiar, MIssouri!

Their community has faced the same battle to keep a huge data center from destroying their community. They fought long and hard and won. They have now taken to supporting other communities in the United States facing these same issues.

Farmington and Castle Rock residents meet at Open House on Oct 30, 2024 at Farmington City Hall

Stop Data Center Development unless they are planned responsibly, with community input and involve local stakeholders. Legistlative oversight and community input can help mitigate the impact of a industrial complex this big on electric grids, wildlife, natural areas, land use, conservation and water resources.. State policy must catch up to the current market. Don’t sacrifice a real world for a digital world.
